Creamy Lemon Pasta with Shrimp

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes 


  • 7 ounces whole-wheat fettuccine
  • 1/3 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/3 teaspoon red pepper, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 10 ounces raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ¼ cup basil, sliced 
  • 2 cups arugula, loosely packed
  • ¼ cup plain yogurt 
  • 2 tablespoons butter, unsalted 
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest 
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice 
  • 1/3 Cup grated Parmesan cheese 


  1. Take a cooking pot, pour in the water, and let it boil.
  2. Then put in the fettuccine.
  3. Cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Reserve about half a cup of its water and drain. 
  5. Meanwhile, take a skillet and warm oil. 
  6. Then put in the shrimp and let it cook for 3 minutes.
  7. Drain and set aside.
  8. Add the butter to the cooking pan and cook the garlic and crushed red pepper for 1 minute; then add the arugula and let it cook for 2 minutes
  9. Then add cooked fettuccine, lemon zest, yogurt, and the reserved pasta water. 
  10. Next add the lemon juice, shrimp.
  11. Toss in parmesan. 
  12. Top it with basil.
  13. Serve.
